The Michelin/Joshua House Golf Classic was established in 1994 to raise funds to support the newly established Joshua House, a home for abused, abandoned or neglected Children. This wonderful fund raising event was created by Mr. Olin Mott of Olin Mott Tire Stores and generously supported and sponsored by Michelin Tire Corp. headed up by Mr. Dave Schaub, the President of Michelin America Small Tires.

 

Michelin has been our Title Sponsor since the inception of this event. Even though Dave has since retired, he and his wife, Linda, return to the Golf Tournament annually to show their support and participate in the Tournament. Dave and Linda contribute personally and substantially each year. With the help of a very talented and dedicated committee, the Tournament has flourished and grown over the years.

 

Through the efforts of all our sponsors, contributors and volunteers, the Tournament has raised over 3.5 million dollars toward the annual operating fund of the Joshua House. Recently we expanded our efforts to include children's educational support. We have established with the University of South Florida and SCATT a tutoring program supporting both the Joshua House and middle schools in the Hillsborough School System. By providing educational Scholarships to USF we place talented tutors in the middle schools to assist students having difficulty achieving State standards.
